Sati Mukherjee: This blog was primarily created to assist those who are interested in cooking Bengali dishes that they and their families so crave. I was only 19 when I got married and accompanied my husband to come to USA. I experimented with the available ingredients and tried to create the dishes from back home. Often, they came out great, but sometimes they were not. But I did not lose hope on my cooking skills and I kept on trying to achieve success. It was heartening to see everyone enjoy and relish the food I would make. Thus, grew my confidence to take on complex dishes and I was able to perfect them after a few tries. This did not mean though that I was spending hours in the kitchen. I figured out many tricks and short cuts that enabled me to get the cooking done quickly. I have shared these tricks and short cuts within my recipes that have been posted on this blog for you to adopt and perhaps adjust according to your style. I hope you enjoy the blog.
