Veg: Bhindi Sorshe (Mustard)

 Ingredients and Quantity (or Amount)

1.    Okra (1 lb.)

2.    Onion (2 medium sized)

3.    Tomatoes (1 medium sized)

4.    Oil (1/4 cup)

5.    Paprika (3/4 teaspoon)

6.    Amchur powder (1 teaspoon)

7.    Turmeric (1/2 teaspoon)

8.    Salt (to taste)

9.    Mustard powder (2 tablespoons)

10. Cilantro (1/4 bunch)

Method:

Wash okra under cold running water. Cut off both ends of each okra. Then cut each into two halves. Set aside all the cut-up okra.

Cut onions and tomato and set aside.

Heat the oil in a heavy skillet. Add onion and fry until translucent or light brown.

Add okra and stir fry for 2 minutes. Add tomato. Add all the spices and amchur as well. Cover and cook over medium heart until okra is tender. Usually this takes about 10-12 minutes. Garnish with cilantro.

Serve warm on plate.
