Dessert: Payesh or Khir

 Ingredients and Quantity (or Amount)

1.    Milk (1 litre)

2.    Sugar (1/2 cup)

3.    Gobindo Bhog Rice (1/2 cup)

4.    Salt (1/8 tablespoon)

5.    Raisins (9-10 pieces)

6.    Cashew nuts (20 pieces)

7.    Bay leaves (2 pieces)

8.    Cardamom (4 pieces)

Method:

Boil the milk on slow heat in a pan. Wash the rice and pour into the milk. Stir constantly and add the salt and bay leaves.

When rice is well boiled, mix the sugar, raisins, cashew nuts and cardamom.

When the milk is thickened, turn off the heat.

Serve at room temperature.
