Non-Veg: Lemon Fish

Ingredients and Quantity (or Amount)

1. Tilapia fish (8 pieces) 

2. Onion paste (4 tablespoons)

3. Ginger paste (2 tablespoons)

4. Turmeric (1 teaspoon)

5. Green chili (2 pieces)

6. Lemon (1 piece)

7. Salt (to taste)

8. Oil (2 tablespoons)

9. Whole Cumin (1 teaspoon)

10. Lemon leaf (2 pieces)

11. Coriander powder (2 teaspoons)

12. Black pepper (1 teaspoon)

Method

Wash the fish and marinate with salt, turmeric and black pepper. Set it aside. 

Put a big skillet on the burner and oil. When oil is hot, fry both sides of the fish, 2 minutes each side. Do not over fry. Set aside the fish.

Add a little oil, add whole cumin. When cumin starts to crackle, add chopped up onions and ginger paste. Cook for about 3 minutes and then add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, sugar, green chili (cut up). Cook for a few minutes and then add one cup hot water. When the gravy starts to boil, add the fish pieces one by one, so that it does not break. 

Add lemon juice and lemon leaves. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Turn off the heat. 

Garnish with lemon and chili peppers. 

Serve with rice.
