Non-Veg: Prawn Malai Curry
Ingredients and Quantity (or Amount)
1. Prawn (10 pieces)
2. Plain Yogurt (1/2 cup)
3. Coconut milk (1 can)
4. Butter (1 stick)
5. Tomato puree (4 tablespoons)
6. Onion paste (4 tablespoons)
7. Ginger / Garlic Paste (4 tablespoons)
8. Turmeric (1/2 tablespoon)
9. Coriander powder (1 tablespoon)
10. Green chili (4 pieces)
11. Red chili powder (1 tablespoon)
12. Cashew paste (2 tablespoons)
13. Oil (2 tablespoons)
14. Whole cinnamon sticks (2 sticks)
15. Whole cardamom (4 pieces)
16. Whole cloves (4 pieces)
17. Garam masala (1 tablespoon)
18. Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
19. Sugar (1 ½ tablespoons)
20. Salt (to taste)
Method:
Clean
and devein the prawns. Marinate the prawns with yogurt, tomato puree, turmeric,
green chili, red chili pepper, cashew paste, oil, lemon juice, salt and sugar.
Heat up
a large skillet. Add butter, whole cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Then fry the
onion and ginger / garlic paste along with coriander powder.
After
5 minutes add the marinated prawn to the skillet and turn the heat to high. Add
coconut milk and cook for 10-12 minutes.
When
the gravy is thickened, add garam masala.
