Why Murighanto (fish-head curry) ?
Since our body can't make omega -3 so we get it through food. It is needed for healthy brain function and the prevention of mental health. Fish Head is (1) richer in vitamin A
(2) rich in omega-3 (3) contain healthy
Protein (4) tastes delicious.
Fish is healthier it's low in saturated fat so it will not increase your cholesterol. Eating fish head is totally normal. But in America it's standard to remove fish head.
Ingredients and Quantity or Amount
Rui or Katla fish head ( one )
Govindo bhog rice ( 4 table spoons)
Onion chopped ( 1 medium)
Ginger paste ( 2 table spoons)
Garlic paste (1 table spoon)
Tomato chopped ( 1 cup)
Potatoes (2 medium)
Turmeric (1 table spoon)
Red chilli powder (1 table spoon)
Cooking oil (3 table spoons)
Sugar (1 table spoons)
Garam masala (1/2 table spoon)
Method
Cut the fish head into small pieces. Wash the fish head. Cut the potatoes into square pieces and wash. Marinade the fish head with little salt and turmeric.
Heat the pan, add oil and fry the head pieces well. Set aside.
In the same pan add oil and add whole cumin, bay leaves add potatoes. When potatoes are brown add onion, ginger and garlic paste add govindo bhog rice, red chilli pepper, turmeric, tomato, salt,sugar and add one cup hot water add fish head pieces cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. When everything is well mixed add garam masala turn off the heat.
Serve with plain rice.
