Non-Veg: Cashew Nut Rohu Fish

Ingredients and Quantity (or Amount)

1. Rohu Fish (1 pound)

2. Plain yogurt (1/2 cup0

3. Ghee (4 tablespoons)

4. Bay Leaves (2 pieces)

5. Green chili (4 pieces)

6. Poppy seeds (2 tablespoons)

7. Cashew Nuts (10 pieces)

8. Onion (1 medium sized)

9. Ginger paste (1 tablespoon)

10. Coconut milk (1/2 cup)

11. Sugar (1 teaspoon)

12. Salt (to taste)

13. Oil (4 tablespoons)

Method

Cut up the fish into desired size and number of pieces, wash each piece in water and drain the water and set aside. 

Heat a pan and add oil. When the oil is hot, add ghee. Also add sugar and fry till it is light brown. Add bay leaves and crushed onion. Fry for 2 minutes and then add poppy seeds, cashew nut paste and yogurt. 

Add green chilies and coconut milk. Add the pieces of fish. Add salt and cook on low heat till the fish is tender. When the gravy thickens, turn off heat. 

Serve with rice.
