Non-Veg: Chicken Begum Bahar

 Why Chicken Begum Bahar?

This was one of my experiments with chicken as I wanted to create a variety of dishes with it. Otherwise, eating the same chicken while in the US was quite boring.

Ingredients and Quantity or Amount

1. Chicken  (one pound)
2. Kashmiri chilli powder (2 table spoons)
3. Garlic paste  ( 11/2 table spoons)
4. Onion paste ( 3 table spoons)
5. Corriender powder (2 table spoons)
6. Yogurt  ( 1/2 cup)
7. Coconut milk (1 cup)
8. Cream ( 1/2 cup)
9. Cooking oil (3 table spoons)
10. Green papaya paste (2 table spoons)
11. Sugar  (2 table spoons)
12. Salt   (to taste)
13. Garam masala (1/2 table spoon)
14. Tabak (1 sheet)













Method

Marinade the chicken with all ingredients, except cooking oil, cream, garam masala.
Heat oil in a skillet and add marinaded chicken. When the chicken absorbs the liquids completely, add 1 cup hot water and cover the skillet, cook for 10 minutes.
When chicken is tender add cream, coconut milk and garam masala.
Cook for 2 minutes.
Garnish all chicken pieces with tabak.
