Veg: Moog Dal with Lau

Ingredients and Quantity (or Amount)

1. Lau (green gourd) (2 pounds)

2. Moog Dal (4 tablespoons)

3. Green chili (2 pieces)

4. Kalo Jeera (1 teaspoon)

5. Bay Leaf (2 pieces)

6. Sugar (1 tablespoon)

7. Salt (to taste)

8. Ginger paste (1 teaspoon)

9. Coriander leaves (1/4 bunch)

10. Dry Chili (2 pieces)

Method

Cut lau into 1 inch cubes. Wash the cut up lau and set aside after draining the water. 

Heat a pan and add oil. Dd dry chili and kalo jeera. Then add the moog dal and fry until brown. Then add the lau, salt, bay leaves, sugar, green chilies. Over until dal and lau are very tender. No need to add water as lau has in built water in it. Turn the flame to low and cover the pan. Cook for a 3 to 4 minutes and turn off the heat. 

Serve with rice.
