Cooking Is a Celebration of Emotions

I will explain step by step some of the basics that shape efficient and modern Indian cooking. You will soon have the skills and confidence to create your very own variation from scratch if you master the techniques.

We cook food over seasonal cycle and ingredients are measured in terms of our health as well as culinary value. The aesthetics of food like colors, textures, shapes, the interplay of certain spices are paramount.

I would recommend the young generation, when they cook, that they do so with their heart, because cooking is a celebration of one’s emotions. Once you learn cooking, you can reinvent familiar dishes by introducing a host of exotic flavors and spices.

In India, during every season we get different vegetable which are absolutely necessary for our body and health. For example, we get mangoes during the summer season. Indian summers are very hot and so eating raw mangoes keeps our body cool.

Success in the use of a recipe is achieved when a cook is satisfied with the finished product. She is likely to say – “I am lucky today”. Luck does play a part in cooking, but it can and should be a minor role. Success in the use of recipes depends upon materials, equipment, technique and the ability to follow directions.

Materials – Although a poor cook has been known to make a poor product from excellent raw materials, a good cook has never been able to cook well with poor materials.

Technique – Good technique comes from practice, but it can be acquired quickly with the cooking equipment of the modern-day kitchen.

Measurement – Perhaps the most important item in good cooking method is the accurate measurement of ingredients of time and temperature. Some people say, “But good cooks don’t measure”. It is true that delectable dishes can be produced without the benefit of measuring cups. It is equally true however, that some people are “born cooks”.

Good cooking requires to have the skills to prepare the food and combining them in meals that everyone enjoys eating not only because it tastes good, but also because it goes well with the other items served with it.

A few key things must be remembered when cooking and serving the food. These are as follows:

1.    Presentation

2.    Colorful

3.    Flavorful

4.    Food value

5.    Great taste

My humble request to the young generation is to try to cook simple items first and then let time unleash your hidden talents to create complex items, which I will be adding shortly to this blog. So, keep visiting often to check for new recipes that may excite and challenge you.
